OLD FIELDS SOLAR
Old Fields Solar is a proposed utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) project planned to have an interconnection injection capacity of up to 175 MWs, of which the project currently includes 150 MWs of PV with potential to add battery-based energy storage (BESS) at a later date, which will generate clean, affordable and homegrown energy and substantial local revenues for Hardy County in West Virginia.
That’s enough clean energy to power approximately 24,000 typical West Virginia homes.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Up to 175 megawatts (MW) interconnection injection capacity, of which the project currently includes 150 MWs of PC and the potential to include battery-based energy storage as well.
Will generate enough clean energy to power 24,000 typical West Virginia homes.
Targeting commercial operations in 2029/2030.
Significant increase in annual revenues to county and schools, with an estimated $7.3 M in payments in the first 20 years alone.
Helps meet the growing demand for renewable energy sources in West Virginia and bolstering the regional grid’s reliability.
Life cycle: 35 years from the date of commercial operation.
Will utilize thoughtful design elements such as strategic setbacks from roads and property lines, vegetative buffers/screening, and wildlife-friendly fencing.
Panel height and vegetative screening will limit project visibility to neighbors and nearby roads.
